I know, I’ve been terrible with posting on here, and I apologize for that. Honestly, I don’t know how other people are able to handle multiple social networking sites and all with the rest of the business and manage to balance it all. One more thing for me to learn, I guess. I don’t have anything really profound to post on here right now, so I thought I would share a piece of art I made in GIMP for my gallery on Deviant Art. Hopefully, all of you will enjoy it. Credit for stocks used goes to the following:

The Next Step   Leave a comment

Well, I’m not going to make this long, but I wanted to say that I’ve finished rewriting my novel last month and am now hard at work with editing it. Things are going great with that and I’m also working on getting the plot for the sequel organized.

After rewriting my novel, I ended with a little over 104,000 words, slightly below my previous draft which was over 106,000. Now I’m at 105,864 words and climbing.

I’m very excited to finally be so close to the finish line, and hopefully, I’ll get my novel published early this year.

For those of you who are on the Underground, you can read pieces of my edited work on my writing thread, A Dark Wolf’s Haunt. For the rest of you, don’t despair. I will soon be posting the first chapter on here, so keep a sharp eye out.

Update #2   Leave a comment

Okay, I apologize to you all for the long delay. Things have been very busy and I have been trying to cram in as much time as possible into writing my novel. Now just to give you an update on where I’m at I’m sorry to say that unfortunately I’m in the process of rewriting. I finished my novel at the end of June but after looking it over I decided it needed a complete overhaul which was really hard for me to look forward to since I spent half the year just writing that. But God is good and I’m happy to say that I’m almost done with the rewriting process. I got about three chapters to go and then I can move on to the next phase which is editing. At the moment this version is turning out to be slightly shorter than my last one but I won’t really know for sure till I’m finished.

So anyway that’s about the sum of it. Although I’m a little disappointed I’m glad the novel is coming out better than it was before. Now as for the plot, I’m keeping most of it under wraps till I’m finished writing but I will give a few details. The novel focuses mainly on a man with strange gifts forced to be an assassin to a sorcerer. He has no memory of who he is and he wonders if he could ever have a different life than the one he is forced to have. Meanwhile a secret evil has been reborn and is planning a massive assault on the realm. The only ones who are aware of this are the elves but no one believes their warnings and an incident occurs that actually leads to a possible war between elves and men.

I decided to have werewolves in the story although not as the good guys (sorry to all the twilight fans out there) and though they won’t be very prominent in the first book they will get a large role in the second.

Elves will have a large part to play and since I have long detested wolves always being the bad guys, I’ll be having them on the side of good in my story.

Anyway, that’s all I can spare for now but hopefully its stirred your interest and I shall now get back to finishing my novel and on a side note Happy Thanksgiving to you all. 🙂

Valentine’s Gift!   Leave a comment

This is a little late for Valentine’s Day but I couldn’t resist showing the flowers I and my sister got for our dear sweet mother! Aren’t they pretty? We could have gotten her red but we thought the pink looked nicer. And when our mother got them she said she preferred the pink.J So that worked out very well!

Update #1   8 comments

Here everyone is my first update on the progress of my book!

I couldn’t bear to reveal I was at a mere 395 words so I labored and spent as much time as I could writing. I can now say I have written over ten thousand words. Hurray!

There is still a lot more writing to be done before my book will be ready for publishing but it is at least a start. Hopefully if I continue to push, my story should be ready for a late fall 2012 release. Hopefully. The latest would be a early spring of 2013. I personally don’t want to wait that long. I want to publish my book this year so I’m praying that God will give me speed and inspiration to get it done.

The publisher I’m favoring the most is CreateSpace from Amazon. You can set your own price and get most of the royalties. The best part is that you are your own boss. I may or may not go with them as I am still looking around. One thing is for sure though, my book will be getting published very soon. That is something I can hardly wait for.

The Library   Leave a comment

My treasure trove!

Yes, I’m posting again in order to hold to my New Year’s resolution. And to show how much I love to read.J

This, my friends, is my own personal library with a ton of good stuff to dig into and immerse one’s self in. And it will be growing so I’m going to need to add a few more shelves because I am plum out of room. And as you can see I like my Christian fantasy books. J

For me books aren’t just pieces of paper, they’re portals to other worlds and different lives. They open up the doors of the imagination and can inspire one to create their own book God used several books to inspire me to write my own story. So I collect as much good stuff as I can, so on that rainy day or warm summer night I can take a trip literally out of this world!

2012 Resolutions   Leave a comment

Now that the holidays are over and a new year begun, one of my resolutions is to upkeep my blog and post more often. After all, what is the point of having a blog if your not going to leave anything on it? So that is one of my resolutions for this year. My other one is to finish the book I’m writing for publication. For a long time I have wanted to get a book published but the right story just never came to mind. God gave me the right one last year and I’m pushing through with it. I won’t be posting any chapters of it but I will be giving updates on my progress towards the finish line. And when I finish ,at last the excitement will begin.

Favorite Season   Leave a comment

Fall has to be about my favorite season of the year. The leaves turn into a variety of colors and the heat of summer gives way to a gentle coolness. What’s more we have the magic of Christmas to look forward to. Not to mention all the turkey as well!
For me, fall is a magical time and the most colorful as well. I wish it was Fall every day except for around Christmas time. Then some snow is needed.

Are the books better than the movie? Part One   1 comment

Anne of Green Gables, Little House on the Prairie, LOTR. These are just a few books that have been turned into motion pictures.  I watched the Anne of Green Gables films and while I enjoyed all 3 my sister was hated the third for it was nothing like the book. In fact it was a completely different story.  However she did like the previous two films over the books.

LOTR: Probably going to get a lot of noise on this but after reading the books and watching the films I have to say that the films were tons better than the book series. Now don’t get me wrong, I enjoy LOTR very much. But as for being a favorite of mine they’re not. A couple of reasons: One was the singing. I don’t have a problem with poetry and riddles so long as they are like prophecies to something. I couldn’t stand all the singing! (Might also mention I don’t care for musicals) Second, maybe it was me but I felt something was lost after the first two books. I have to say that the first book of LOTR was my favorite of the series next to the Hobbit.

Little House on the Prairie:

Now with that one, while I’m okay with the books they are not my favorites. I probably would never have bothered with them if it wasn’t for my mother reading it to my sister and I before we went to sleep (at my sister’s insistence.) Now the tv series was good. I have to be honest and say that I really enjoyed them more than the books.

So are books better than their film counterparts? Some I’d say yes others no. But I’ll have to talk more on this subject later!
